Katy Derby

Katy Derby grew up in the studios at Petaluma School of Ballet and has been dancing for as long as she can remember. She is a senior company member of Petaluma City Ballet and has appeared in principal roles in several ballets, including The Nutcracker, Coppelia, and Sleeping Beauty. For the past eight years, she has been teaching ballet to dancers of all ages. She was certified in Zumba in April 2008 and has had a blast! Zumba is the perfect blend of fitness and fun! Becky Huffaker

I was born and raised in Sonoma County, a ballerina since the age of five, dancing with Petaluma School of Ballet and Petaluma City Ballet through 2001. I furthered my knowledge and dance experience at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. There I majored in Kinesiology, with a Dance minor, and danced with the Orchesis Dance Company from 2001 to 2005. My Senior Project was organizing, casting, and fundraising a dance show of 70 dancers within Cal Poly's student body -- both shows sold out. I have taught a variety of classes in various styles, from ballet to hip-hop, for ages two to adult. I am back in Sonoma County and very excited about Zumba. Dance has always been my passion, therefore this fitness fusion of dance and physical activity is right up my alley. Megan Batch

I have been dancing since I was 5 years old. I joined Petaluma School of Ballet when I was 11 where I became experienced in various styles of dance. I was a member of Petaluma City Ballet until 1999 and returned as a member for the 2004/2005 season. I became an official dance teacher of PSB in 2007 for students of all ages. Incorporating dance into my work out is a must for me and Zumba is a perfect way to do that.
